co-worker:LUO Zhening,Qiu Yiwu
In China, the amount of people who are over 60 years old takes up almost 11% of the total population. it equals to the total population of U.S.A. In the next decade, China will face the aging problem together with urbanization, industrialization and modernization.
Chinese has own unique thinking of keeping health. We respect for the integrity of man and nature. We believe life lies in motion, longevity lies in happiness.
According to respondents’ daily life style, we created a experience flow chart about things they do to keep healthy. We put their demands and problems into different time point, and trying to discover the design idea and opportunity.
They pay special attention to keep healthy.
our group are interested in the people who are going to enter aging stage but still looks healthy. We are aiming at find the positive attitude and health life style among these age group. Because these people are strongly demanding for high-quality, affordable, sustainable personal care product.
let’s back to the traditional Chinese health keeping philosophy. For example: acupressure massage.
These are common traditional health care tools in chinese families. There is a great potential opportunity to develop traditional Chinese care method. So we want to re-design new products which contains traditional Chinese health care and also accepted in modern society.
Main opportunities :
1.Can we design a product that can lead them to exercise their body everyday?
2. From the elderly we know China has many old health keeping method, how to develop them and can we connect them to design?
“Pushy” and “Knockie” belong to our Smart Health Care Family, both of which can improve your physical health conditions according to Chinese Acupressure. We hope to design a series of products that contain both Chinese ancient wisdom and modern technology and keep everyone living longer and living better.
“Pushy” is a nose massager. During the massage, the friction will gradually create heat which will stay at a most comfortable temperature. People can simply hold it with two fingers and then massage their nose around Ying Xiang point. It will keep people away from many diseases including catching cold.
“Knockie” is a pat hammer. The product has 3 massage modes such as heating mode, multi-touch mode and rotating mode. By using it, users can release stresses on their shoulders, legs and feet. Both products can record the frequency of massage every time and suggest users with the most suitable frequency for them. Users can simply recharge the products using the charging base. They can also remind users to use them automatically when necessary.
